We have almost reached to the business end of the tournament where every match counts immensely, not only for the two teams playing but also for the others whose hopes are jittering with every ball. Every team is up on their toes leaving no stone unturned just to get those two vital points in their kitty and also keeping an eye on the net run rate. It has been the nature of the tournament where even the net run rate will come into play for the ones who are hanging on the edge of elimination.

Australia sitting comfortably at the top.

Australia after the win against the arch-rival England at Lords have already qualified for the Semi-final and will now look to consolidate their top position in the points table. With England facing a defeat against Australia and on the other hand Pakistan emerging victorious against the New Zealand at Edgbaston, have opened up the tournament for others. Meanwhile, New Zealand got their first defeat of the tournament leaving India the only undefeated team of the tournament.

India and New Zealand look far more comfortable in the points table and are strong contenders to make it to the semis after Australia. England after playing some average cricket in the recent past have put themselves in a rather undesirable situation. They were firm favourites at the start of the tournament and now will be competing against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan to become the fourth team to qualify for the knockouts.

Who will lift the World Cup this year?

Afghanistan is still searching for their first win of the tournament. They came close to winning the match against India but could not seize the crucial moments which cost them the game. However, there were lot of positive which they will take back from the game against the India.

Along with Afghanistan, South Africa and West Indies were the other two teams who are now out of the tournament. But, they can be the party spoilers for the others who are eyeing to finish on top and  will cause a serious threat to those who are still fighting to get into the top four.

World Cup 2019 Semi-Final scenarios.

Points Table.

Qualification Scenario for England

England have two games up their sleeve to book a berth into the semi-final. They have to play against India at Edgbaston and New Zealand at Chester-le-Street on 30th June 2019 and 3rd July 2019 respectively. Both India and New Zealand are already looking good to make it to the Semis. For England it is going to be a tough nut to crack as India have not lost a single game and New Zealand with only one loss to their name in this year's World Cup 2019.

Qualification Scenario for Bangladesh

Bangladesh too have two games up their sleeves. They have to play both their games against their Asian counterparts India at Edgbaston and Pakistan at Lords on 2nd and 5th July, 2019 respectively. They not only need to win the match but need to win big as net run rate will surely play a part for their semi-final berth.

Qualification Scenario for Pakistan

Pakistan will be feeling relief as they do not have any fixture with the teams in the top four. They still need to play their A-game as we have seen that they often tumble in crunch situation against any opposition. They will be facing Afghanistan at Leeds and Bangladesh at Lords on 29th June and 5th July 2019, keeping their net run rate in mind as they have an opportunity to improve while playing against the team from the bottom half of the points table.

Qualification Scenario for Sri Lanka

Out of the four teams competing for the fourth Spot, Sri Lanka's chances look a bit gloomy as compared to the other three. They still need to play three games against South Africa, West Indies and India.
